ChatGPT Executive Says The Tool Can Be Useful In Classrooms Despite Schools Expressing Concerns

The entry of ChatGPT into the tech world has caused a ruckus that not many were predicting.

The AI-based technology has schools expressing major concerns about how bots based on AI can really affect young minds. But a top executive at ChatGPT thinks otherwise.

She recently was caught mentioning how the tool is actually one that could benefit classrooms across the globe, adding how useful the tool can be.

A recently conducted interview with Time Magazine features the CTO of OpenAI, which is the parent firm of ChatGPT. She was very bold to mention how schools should not be in a hurry to ban AI-based technology such as this on campuses.

And that is despite the fact that many have major concerns about how it could assist in cheating and affect the performance and standards of schooling.

Instead, she says that it can really revolutionize the way learning is carried out in today’s day and age, especially in settings where people don’t have the same learning preferences or abilities as thier respective peers.

She went on to elaborate on the matter including how tools like this can allow you to converse with models and even understand concepts that may appear unclear or blurry. The tool can better cater to students by dropping them down to their own level of understanding so it’s easier for them to comprehend. And this way, it carries the significant potential to assist many in terms of personalized education.

So far, many public based school systems across the US like NYC, Seattle, and Los Angeles have resorted to banning the tool as they’ve got a huge issue with cheating and plagiarism.

But OpenAI CEO says that he knows the bot has a lot of great potential in schools and while educators may not be seeing it right now, it’s definitely there and very engaging for the world of learning.

In another interview, he made comparisons of its use to the likes of generative text being similar to a calculator and that’s why he feels schools need to adopt it easily.

For a while now, people are using it to learn new things and are even finding it to be so much more compelling than other things of the past.
OpenAI CEO says he would rather allow ChatGPT to teach things than go out and read a textbook by himself.

But others are having trouble with the advent of this technology and the huge changes that it is capable of producing. Detecting AI plagiarism is not easy most of the time and many people are not too surprised that issues like academic honesty are stopping such tools from growing in capability as well as their popularity.

When the technology is opened up to various individuals hailing from different backgrounds and domains, that’s when you really understand the great benefits and potential that it comes with. Yes, there are pros and cons, just like everything else in this world.

And while so many educational institutions are putting a limit on its use, there are also some educators out there that feel it could be a huge part of the lesson plan found in classrooms.

Another critic mentioned how there are plenty of students that are now getting a better understanding of how it works and how to go about using it via the likes of critical thinking.

Yes, GPTs and the world of AI are a huge threat when you focus on making things like education as the output. But, you will never be able to replace the whole process linked to solving problems through this technology. And many experts feel the latter is what true learning is all about.

Apple Could Launch An Ultra Premium iPhone In 2024 That Sits Above Its Pro Series

Just when you thought you couldn’t get a device that was more premium than Apple’s iPhone Pro series comes forward more news that refutes such claims.

Leading iPhone maker Apple has been in the talks about it being on the lookout to launch its ultra-premium iPhone device. This would reportedly turn into the new top-end model for the company that sits a tier above the current offering of the iPhone Pro series.

But we’d also like to mention how there has been so little talk about this aspect. However, the latest on this front has to do with a release window that could arrive as early as next year.

The news comes to us thanks to the likes of tech giant Mark Gurman from Bloomberg. He confirmed how Apple may be introducing the premium model in 2024 but we’d also like to add how so many reports from the past spoke about it being the next best replacement to the Cupertino firm’s iPhone Pro Max design.

As of now, the latest update claims the Ultra is right above the Pro model and that transforms it into a whole new line. But in terms of when this could end up arriving is concerned, well, even we’re not too sure about that. As per Gurman’s reports, predictions for the mega and much-anticipated release are for next year.

It could be later than that but only if you’re lucky, we might be seeing a release that comes at an earlier time. But again, the latter means we would be wishing for a bit too much.

So, what can users expect in terms of this new premium interface? Well, definitely better and more exclusive materials used in the buildup and of course, features worth raving about as they use unique technology.

At the same time, don’t expect the prices to be cheap. A higher model calls for higher prices and this top-end iPhone 14 Pro Max featuring 1TB could end up at a staggering price point of $1600. There is similarly this chance that such a model may arise at a price tag that’s above this. But Apple’s CEO Tim Cook isn’t breaking a sweat in this regard.

He has expressed during one of the firm’s most recent earning call meetings that people are going to be stretching their budgets to attain the best purchases that they can afford in this category. For now, we have no other details in the market about solid facts hinting toward the new iPhone 15 but some things that users would like to see with such a release are definitely the talk of the town.

But with that, there are also some user wants for the release of this new Ultra design phone too. We could be witnessing some great enhancements to cameras in 2023. Anything and everything could happen and it’s all possible.

Whatever the case may be, one thing is for sure. We are months away from actually seeing rumor mills spitting out speculations regarding the start of this endeavor and once they do, there are bound to be plenty of where that came from.

India Gears Up To Block 232 Betting And Loan Apps Including Those With Chinese Links

India is making a bold decision to block more than 230 apps including some having great links with its neighboring country China.

The country says those apps would be included that offer betting as well as loan services to the South Asian market. This would prevent misuse of users’ data, as confirmed by the country’s leading public broadcaster, who outlined the report on Sunday.

The country is taking the decision very seriously and has even set about calling it an emergency ban that needs to be enforced as soon as possible on 138 betting apps related to the world of gambling. Meanwhile, another 94 were linked to providing unauthorized sources for loans.

The country’s Electronics and IT industry say this move would be in the nation’s best interest. And it was being carried out on the directives of the Ministry of Home Affairs. Meanwhile, such apps are designed to mislead customers into taking on huge loans, forcing them to run into debt without even coming to the realization of the terms of the agreement.

Similarly, some concerns are linked to them serving as espionage tools and those linked to the likes of propaganda.

This recent decision that was announced on Sunday is one of the latest done to ensure the Government is cracking down on apps and services that serve as major threats to the country’s citizens.

Then we saw the likes of the Reserve Bank of India setting out stricter rules in terms of allowing digital loans. This crackdown against those not following rules was started last year as more and more companies were urged to adopt a policy of transparency as well as control for customers.

As per new rules, the lenders are not allowed to further extend the credit limits of clients without getting their consent and at the same time, they can’t disclose details linked to rates for annual loans in exact terms.

Furthermore, all apps linked to digital loans must take prior consent from clients before they make attempts to collect data and any requests of this sort should be based on their needs.

Today, India has blocked more than 300 different apps that have ties with China. And it’s a decision taken in the country’s best interest for integrity and sovereignty. As it is, authorities in India banned several top Chinese apps last year including the likes of TikTok, Alibaba’s UC Browser, and the Community Call apps by Xiaomi. This decision was taken amid a rise in tensions between both southeast Asian nations.

For now, the capital New Delhi is yet to mention that it is taking decisions on platforms from any other particular country.

But India’s decision was recently praised by many including Republicans when they saw the country go ahead and ban TikTok. Moreover, they called decision one as being a very important precedent.
Many American lawmakers have been calling TikTok out for months. They feel it functions as a leading surveillance tool that behaves in a sophisticated manner to grab a hold of users’ data. And if a nation wants to ensure its communication network is safe and sound, banning the app might be the right step forward.

There are many reports from experts that speak about how worries are increasing about China making use of citizens’ sensitive data for their own benefit as well as for the sake of espionage, surveillance, blackmailing, and others.

Therefore, several Americans do hope to follow in India’s footsteps to curb such threats before it gets too late. Moreover, they also hope to filter out other similar apps that function in similar behavior.

Chat GPT can serve as an adequate replacement for a number of jobs, and a study from Sortlist Data Hub revealed that 43% of Millennials are worried it could take their own job.

Buzzfeed has already announced that it will be generating at least some content from Chat GPT, and that might make certain creative jobs less essential than might have been the case otherwise.

With all of that having been said and now out of the way, it is important to note that the field of marketing is going to be especially badly hit by the rise of Chat GPT. 51% of employers have stated that if they do end up using Chat GPT, they will mostly be using it for various forms of marketing campaigns.

PR is yet another department that could see human workers getting replaced by Chat GPT, and what makes matters worse is that the people working in those departments aren’t even seeing this coming. Only about 16% of marketing professionals think that their jobs can be replaced by Chat GPT, which suggests that a majority of them might not be prepared for what is about to occur.

We might start to see widespread layoffs in the tech sector which will be spurred by how easy Chat GPT tends to make things. Employers are only going to think of the bottom line, and if using Chat GPT gets them comparable work for a much lower cost, they will inevitably end up going down that route.

One field that is currently more or less safe from Chat GPT is that of IT. Design, finance and legal departments are very likely going to be safe for the short term too.

Breaking Down Barriers: The Challenges of Transforming SMB Software Buyers and How to Overcome Them

Small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs) play a crucial role in the global economy, and technology companies have been trying to tap into this market for years.

However, a recent study has found that converting SMB software buyers is no easy feat. The study, which was conducted by Technology Business Research (TBR), looked at the purchasing habits of SMBs and the challenges they face when making software purchasing decisions.

According to the study, SMBs are often faced with a lack of resources, limited budgets, and a lack of technical expertise, which can make it difficult for them to make informed decisions about the software they need. Additionally, the study found that SMBs often struggle to assess the value of software solutions, leading to difficulties in choosing the right solution for their needs.

One of the biggest challenges for SMBs when it comes to software purchasing is the need to find a solution that meets their specific requirements. Unlike large enterprises, SMBs often have limited resources and a smaller IT staff, meaning they need software that is easy to use and implement. SMBs also face budget constraints, and they are often hesitant to make large investments in software that they may not be able to fully utilize.

Following a purchase, buyers take the following activities to keep their connections with software providers:

Contacting the software provider via support channels: 47% Managing your account or contacting the software supplier via a customer portal: 43%

Attending routine business review meetings with the software provider (monthly or quarterly):42%

Collaboration on the software provider's product roadmap: 40%

Establishing a specific internal point-of-contact to help with onboarding: 34%

Using customized post-implementation material provided by the software provider: 31%

The study also found that SMBs are often at a disadvantage when it comes to evaluating the ROI of software solutions. Unlike larger enterprises, SMBs lack the resources to conduct comprehensive evaluations and may not have the technical expertise needed to fully understand the capabilities and limitations of a particular solution.

To overcome these challenges, SMBs need to partner with technology companies that can provide them with the resources and support they need to make informed decisions about software. This includes access to educational resources, such as whitepapers and case studies, as well as technical support and training. Technology companies can also help SMBs assess the ROI of their software investments and ensure that they are getting the most value from their purchases.

Moreover, uncertain or conflicting information, poor sales presentations, and mismatched pricing expectations are the main hurdles to purchasing. When working with these channels, vendors should be aware that customers prefer material or interactions to be in their native tongue:

Technical support: 40%

Boot camp resources and courses: 40%

Software communication, such as emails and updates, accounted for 32%.

Websites and landing pages for vendors: 31%

Video instruction — 28%

Unbiased user testimonials: 27%

Research using third-party software — 26%

Documents in white — 16%

In conclusion, converting SMB software buyers is a complex and challenging process. SMBs face numerous barriers when it comes to software purchasing, including limited resources, limited budgets, and a lack of technical expertise. However, by partnering with technology companies that provide them with the resources and support they need to make informed decisions, SMBs can overcome these challenges and find software solutions that meet their specific needs.
