India Surpasses the US As Most Mature AI Market

The US was the first place in the world where AI started to gain a foothold, but in spite of the fact that this is the case the rate of AI adoption in the country has fallen behind that of an unlikely competitor, namely India. The Decision Intelligence Index which is released each year by Peak recently showed that India has now surpassed both the US as well as the UK in terms of the maturity of its AI market, receiving an overall score of 64 out of 100 with all things having been considered and taken into account.

With all of that having been said and now out of the way, it is important to note that the US only managed to obtain a score of 52, and the UK fell well behind with a low score of 44. AI adoption rates among US companies hover at around 28% which is 3 points higher than India’s 25%, but Indian companies are still managing to get ahead thanks to the broad spectrum of internal communications that use AI in those corporations.

18% of tech workers in the US were unsure of their employers’ use of AI, and only 2% of Indian workers said the same. AI seems to be having a much more positive impact on the work lives of Indian employees as well, with 78% reporting improved wellbeing thanks to AI implementation. The US, on the other hand, only has about 47% of workers stating that AI is improving their mental health and wellbeing in the workplace, so the US is clearly falling behind.

However, tech innovation still tends to be centralized in California because of the fact that this is the sort of thing that could potentially end up exposing tech companies to the most talented and skilled workers in the world. California got an AI Leadership Score of 58 out of a maximum 100 points, but an interesting thing to point out is that it went further with a score of 61. That suggests that more tech innovation will occur in New York than might have been the case otherwise.

TikTok Raises Alarm For European Users About Their Data Being Accessed By Different Nations

Leading social media app TikTok is sounding alarm bells for users in Europe regarding how different nations such as China are gaining access to data that’s exposed. The famous app that’s owned by China went on to confirm this after a new update was included in the platform’s privacy policy.

Meanwhile, the head of privacy of the leading platform in Europe did issue a statement on the matter. Elaine Fox explained how there was a huge need to get the job done and it was subject to some of the most robust means for security control.

Moreover, approval protocols and the way things were being recognized via the GDPR would enable a few employees in the corporate sector in nations like China, Japan, Brazil, Singapore, South Korea, and Malaysia. This is where people could easily access the data of users on the app, she added.

The news is definitely controversial and so many regulators located globally have raised concerns in the past about TikTok’s Chinese parent firm Bytedance sharing sensitive details with the government. Moreover, the company has kept lawmakers assured time and time again how important of a factor it considers user data security and privacy to be. But as you can imagine, so many regulators have their stance on the matter and since then, they’re critically analyzing the app’s every move.

TikTok’s new and updated privacy policy is located in various countries like the UK, Switzerland, and the European Economic Area. It will reportedly go live on December 2.

Meanwhile, just last week, we saw one top official hailing from the FCC write in detail about how the platform needed to be banned in places like the US. He added that there was no place out there in today’s universe where you could provide assurance that it won’t end up in the hands of the Chinese Communist Party.

Remember, a lot of American lawmakers including former US President Donald Trump have raised concerns about Bytedance sharing data belonging to American users with databases in China. While the app rejected the allegations, TikTok is definitely on the US radar.

The app is today’s most successful and fastest-growing venture. Moreover, it’s been downloaded more than 4 billion times, ever since it was first launched in 2017, and has managed to make revenue worth $6 billion through in-app spending as confirmed by data from Sensor Data.

People prefer smartwatch over smartband: Will it shrink smartband business?

The world is gradually shifting its wheel for smartband wrist accessories, and the main reason behind the decline is the pandemic. The smartband companies have faced huge losses during the pandemic because people prefer health over everything. Smartwatches do just that for all people. Alongside it has many other advanced features that we cannot get a hold of in smart bands.

A Counterpoint Research study reported that since 2021, the smartband industry has seen a massive loss of consumers as they are more interested in buying smartwatches these days. The decline will follow in upcoming years as well. Although many people used to prefer Smartband to keep a track of their movements and other stuff as it provides a long battery, plus it is budget-friendly. But since the outbreak of coronavirus, people are more worried about their health and like to keep a track of heart pressure and rhythms.

Both wrist watches have almost the same look and features. They both can track health and fitness measurements. The thing that makes them apart is the advanced feature installed in smartwatches. Smartband mainly works on a real-time operating system. Whereas the smartwatch has a more advanced version of the same feature that can track health and fitness in a much better way than the Smartband system. They have installed an OS that helps keep track of health measures such as blood pressure, heartbeat, and ECGs. Other than that, smartwatches enable its user to download their fav music, games, and even weather conditions.

Furthermore, the cost of wristwatches is yet another distinction. Smartband has seen an 89% vast decline in shipment orders, whereas smartwatches only bear 38%. The business of smartwatches is rapidly growing as an Indian company OEM has seen a massive economic boost during the pandemic. People who still prefer Smartband are also getting lured by these advanced features into buying smartwatches.

Many major companies now shift their focus to creating more smartwatches. Brands like Xiaomi, and Fitbit are more focused on releasing new smartwatches while the Smartband business will shrink gradually. Be that as it may, since the clients of Garmin band, which has a higher ASP, have high brand dedication and restricted other options, it might figure out how to keep a steady piece while finding it challenging to stay away from a shipment decline.

A major shift occurred during Covid-19, and now people are buying smartwatches for a better experience. Although Smartband installed some new features to make few buyers stick to the old ways. They have installed SpO2 and body temperature measurements which will give accurate results. The wristband market is expanding rapidly, and in the coming years, our smartwatches will undergo additional modifications.

During the early part of this year, Google was seen rolling out a beta where users could play Android Games across PCs. However, it was only for a few selected regions and was seen getting expanded to places like the US, Brazil, Philippines, Canada, Mexico, Singapore, and Indonesia.

As can be expected, so many games are present on Android, and the fact that Google is opening up a new avenue that allows it to be played across PCs means a whole new world of new opportunities.

For now, we know that this test is just restricted to a few games from the majority. But it really is so interesting and you get to play them on phones, tablets, PC, and Chromebooks. Similarly, the experiment is getting expanding to various regions and Google has really worked hard to bring things down to a minimum so it runs flawlessly on PCs.

So yes, you’ll be getting the chance to play in this new beta but it will be very minimal as you require a Windows 10, SSDs with 10GB free space, and RAM comprising 8GB. Then there is Intel UHD Graphics 630 GPU or something that’s equal to that.

For now, Google has mentioned how it won’t be guaranteed that games would be running at a minimal configuration but how its services would be doing that it won't guarantee that games will run with the minimum configuration, only that its service will.

This final warning being mentioned at the end won’t install confidence but it never hurts to be on the PC. In case it does end up working, well, you can always experience it on Google Play Games and if not, feel free to go back and play your games across your regular smart devices such as a phone or a tablet.

This is not the sole option out there in terms of running Android applications in places like your PC. Microsoft has started experimenting with the Windows Subsystem on Windows 11 for Android too.

Anyways, those who are interested in this venture can try out Google’s new solution for gaming. You can even head on over to Google Play Games for signup.

Google is currently in the process of making the rollout happen in various regions and we’re excited to see which countries are included so stay tuned.

Meta Says It Has Found The Perfect Way To Save Water At Its Data Centers

Meta has gone public with ways that it feels can assist in reducing water consumption.

The tech giant is stated to be utilizing unique techniques that incorporate the use of altering temperature conditions to help conserve as much water as possible.

The company plans on doing that by reducing wastage in key areas like its data centers. New strategies are being devised with the concept of using high temperatures but low humidity conditions.

The firm has even begun trials where it’s altering conditions above the usual norm and analyzing what difference that ends up making if any. This new plan is stated to be a part of its mission to turn into a water-positive company by the year 2030.

Meanwhile, Meta has also spoken about how keen it has become to limit the frequency at which water is used for tasks like backwashing and used to clean filtration systems.

More details were unveiled by the leading Facebook parent firm at a recent conference held in Houston, Texas. Moreover, a lot of its data centers are also engaged in tasks like water softening so keeping a check on things like this can really make a difference, it added.

So how exactly will the entire process work be a question on so many people’s minds? And that’s when it was announced that Meta is making use of pilot programs where half of the room is kept at normal or control conditions while the other half is linked to altering the temperature and humidity levels. In this way, a stark comparison may be drawn to distinguish the two ordeals.

While the company is yet to go public with its water consumption goals or targets, there are estimates of how it wishes to save millions of gallons by making small tweaks or changes. On average, it hopes to make savings that range between 10% to 60%.

In case you happen to be wondering why the firm’s data centers are being targeted amongst all others, well, the answer is simple. It’s linked to how such locations are responsible for using huge amounts of water over the course of one-year thanks to tasks like cloud hosting and more. Hence, even making small amendments could mean saying hello to huge savings.

Meta has always been at the forefront when it comes to protecting the environment. But it’s not the only tech giant known to do so. Others like Microsoft are keener on reducing carbon footprints.

YouTube has added four new features for creators on its platform

Creator Insider is back again with a new video highlighting the four new changes being added by YouTube to its platform.

According to the posted video, the first update is that, from now on, video content creators on YouTube will be able to receive push alerts for super thanks through the Studio mobile application. Creators will receive notifications whenever a subscription is purchased by their viewers. The notification will contain all the information, including the amount in dollars of the gift along with the name of the buyer. However, this service will only work if the creator has turned on their comment notifications. If it's turned off, they won’t be notified.

The second discussion was on search insight, also known as the Research tab for desktop users. The main function of search insight is to assist content creators in analyzing the search relevancy of their viewers across all platforms, including their YouTube channel. These searches can be filtered by the creators for any content gaps present. This can help them modify the future strategy of their videos. Before this update, the Insight feature was available only in the English language and in limited regions, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and India. But now, the developers have decided to expand this feature by making it available for desktop users and allowing more languages on the platform, including Korean, Japanese, Hindi, and more.

Furthermore, YouTube is making a slight change to the navigation tab bar UI. The updated version will have a navigation bar below the channel profile. In this way, anyone visiting the profile will have access to complete information about the creator from all tabs, making store buttons more accessible to the users.

Lastly, the channel talked about the latest video posted by YouTube creators on creator music. Creator Music was announced on September 20 during an event. The main idea behind this feature is to allow creators to get a license for their songs directly from YouTube. Though the feature is only available in invite-only mode, it can be expected that changes will be made in the future. YouTube's creator gave more insight into this feature in their latest video.

Microsoft is planning to offer affordable PCs powered by ads

Software giant Microsoft seems interested in launching low-priced and affordable personal computers featuring Windows 365, and power by advertisements. It was first observed by ZDNet while going through the job listings at Microsoft.

Recently, Microsoft was searching for a Principal Software Engineer Manager for the company, and while posting about it on the career job listing, the description said that the Redmond campus of the company is searching for anyone who can assist the firm in charting new ways for the user experience and Windows model. The description further included affordable personal computers supported by advertisements. It even included the latest direct-to-cloud hardware equipment.

What seems to be new is that in the job description, the company mentioned the names of its creations, which include the latest Microsoft 365, and Windows Incubator Team. According to the software giant, this will be responsible for leading a new era of cloud revolution for the software industry by describing the latest hybrid applications that range somewhere between cloud and local computing.

By putting all these pieces of information together like a puzzle, it seems like in the upcoming years, the company, in association with its partners and investors, is planning to manufacture thin personal computers for their customers that might be used in different companies. It may also be able to sell Windows to users with the help of the cloud. Such types of computers usually consist of cheap hardware, and the basic functions are carried out either on a server or online instead of on a system.

Microsoft 365 made its first appearance eleven years ago, and since then the services have been used by several companies and individuals. Apparently, as per the job listing, it seems that the company is planning to expand by 365. Lately, many supporting features such as Switch have been released, which makes the service more compatible with the latest Windows version.

Though no official details have been shared by the officials, it can be expected that the company might make some announcements regarding the plans of Microsoft, which may give a clear picture of what the company is up to.
