The Top 20 One Page Websites from 2015

2015 was another mega year for the One Page website. Did you know we reviewed 601 unique One Page websites in 2015!

Below are our Top 20 picks out of the 64 One Pagers we awarded “Most Loved” last year. It was difficult narrowing this down and there is no ranking order but each is given a reason why we think it was worthy of a Top 20 placement.

Factors that influenced our decisions were mainly the quality of the One Page website but there are one or two we have included due to the huge amount of social sharing they received – an obvious indication of our reader appreciation. The round up was such a nostalgic and humbling experience – long live the One Page website!

Hope you enjoy,
Rob

34 (Product)

34

Beautiful illustrations and subtle animations in this unique One Pager for a new Georgian craft beer called 34. It’s difficult to put into words the amount of love that the Leavingstone team put into this Single Page website. The layout is really unique but still very flexible, the intro age verification check is hilarious and the overall consistency of color, typography and illustrations is just superb. Make sure you watch the video too with their pricing experiment, interesting stuff.

St. Louis Browns Historical Society (Sport, Informational)

St. Louis Browns Historical Society

Gorgeous AJAX loading One Pager for ‘St. Louis Browns Historical Society’. The site walks visitors through the team’s history and features biographies of the players, including their stats, in an effort to create interest in the team and increase membership in the Society. The attention to detail in the design and load transitions are simply stunning. What a nice touch with the baseball diamond themed preloader as well. Big effort here by HLK Agency and it really shines though in the end result.

Bia Costa (Portfolio, Résumé)

Bia Costa

Portugal based software engineer, Bia Costa, brings us the most interactive (and awesome) One Page resume we’ve seen this year. It all starts off with a classic “film” intro followed by a UFO dropping off Bia as “Ghost Boo” – the main ghost character. You can then visit the museum to check out his study and employment history, continue to the supermarket to visualise his skills using shelved items, visit the cemetery (with a spotlight) to see his archived projects, rock out on guitar (nice touch with ghostbusters sticker) in his hobbies section, second last is swinging past home to check mail that pops up a contact form and finally ends with beaming up back into the UFO with ending film credits. I’m not even going to attempt to talk about the attention to detail. Exceptional effort.

Ava Sessions (Experimental)

Ava Sessions

Seriously impressive interactive One Pager that sketches your portrait using face detection software. ‘Ava Sessions’ is part of the promotional campaign for the sci-fi film Ex Machina. When arriving at the site the bot (Ava) asks you a few questions and tells you the weather based on your location. Then Ava proceeds to draw your portrait from a webcam photo or uploaded image. These sketches mimic Ava’s drawing style in the movie. Here is the image I uploaded and here is the result. Brilliant.

Brand-On Johns-On (Personal, Résumé)

Brand-On Johns-On

Responsive One Page website for planetary scientist and MIT postdoctoral scholar, ‘Brandon Johnson’. There is so much love in this page and despite the awesome elements, my favorite part is definitely the “ON” branding that is just perfectly consistent throughout the site. “Brand-on” claims he is always on so there is even an Off switch that brings up a hilarious error message saying “Action could not be completed, Brandon is always on”. A unique website in a niche industry and well executed.
