Google has been busy, working on one of it's more exciting additions to the Android family. Android Auto promises to be the next big thing to further streamline your connection with your phone.

Auto is Google's in-car Heads Up Display (HUD) software. It's the awesome Android OS you know, just in a new and revised form. Android Auto lets drivers interact with their messages, music, notifications, navigation and other elements without touching their phone.

Telerik: You Know Angular. Now You Know Mobile.

Angular is one of the most widely used JavaScript frameworks today. With its simple and flexible component-based approach, it has managed to revolutionize the way data-driven web apps are created. Angular apps have always been confined to a browser, though, be it an actual browser or a web view inside a hybrid mobile app. As a result, their performance has always been slightly inferior to that of native apps. Thanks to Telerik and Google, all that is about to change.

After working together for almost a year, teams from both companies have come up with an innovative solution that not only decouples Angular from the browser, but also allows it to run natively on any platform. It involves using Angular 2, a completely rewritten platform-agnostic version of Angular, in combination with Telerik NativeScript 2.0, an open source framework for creating mobile apps with native user interface components using JavaScript, CSS, and XML.

Because Angular 2 is seamlessly integrated into NativeScript 2.0, you are now able to leverage your expertise in Angular to create truly native Android and iOS apps. More importantly, with this approach, it is possible to use a single code base for both the web and native mobile versions of your app. Indeed, considering all the additional features NativeScript 2.0 has to offer, such as a robust plugin infrastructure, a responsive layout system, and CSS3 animations at 60 frames per second, it does seem to be the holy grail for mobile app development web developers have long been waiting for.
