TikTok has added a search shortcut at the bottom of videos

It's been six years since ByteDance released its famous short video platform, TikTok. Since then, the application has been breaking records, becoming one of the fastest to reach over one billion downloads.

As it appears, the platform is planning to introduce some new changes to its interface. As per the latest Tweet of Matt Navarra, a social media analyst and researcher, the platform is going to add a search shortcut on the homepage, at the bottom of the videos. However, it is still not clear whether the search will be based on frequent searches or just keywords or hashtags.

One of the main reasons why TikTok is used by people of all ages is that the interface has been designed to be as simple as possible. According to the screenshot shared by Matt, the new search bar will be present above the home button, which will make searching more accessible, as currently, the option has to be accessed from the top right corner.

Lately, the app has also been working to provide a safer experience to its users. Earlier this week, it was announced by the officials that the company is working on a new research API to provide improved access to the public for the posts being made on the platform.

Soon after this announcement, it was revealed that the developers are all set to roll out the beta variant of the API and have requested the Content and Safety Advisory Council to analyze its performance.

According to TikTok, the company is seeking help from members with specialties in aggressive, violent, and extremist behavior, as well as upcoming high-tech applications, to examine the beta API.

On the other hand, while security is being ensured, initiatives are also being taken to inform the creator that someone has saved their video as a favorite. Previously, the owner wouldn’t be notified of the names of people adding their content to favorites, but now the whole process will be transparent, with the creator having full access to the names.

TikTok said that the company is always seeking out ways through which they can give a much better user experience by ensuring a protected environment for the users.

How to create pdf files and edit them on my mobile phone?

At this point in time, processing files in the PDF format is a completely cross-disciplinary activity. Because of this, having a document scanner app on your mobile device that is capable of editing these kinds of documents is a very useful thing to have.

As such, there are many applications out there on the market that allow you to edit PDF files, but only a few really stand out from the rest. However, most of them include very similar functionalities, such as the ability to extract text, editing and annotation of these files, as well as the possibility of having more control over the finished product by exporting them in other formats.

If you're willing to spend a little more on the application, it might also include some advanced features, such as optical character recognition (OCR), making it easier to search through large documents or have the document's contents translated into text that can be then exported in other file formats that are more convenient for you.

In this article we'll take a look at one of the best PDF editing tools on the market today and highlight the features that make it unique from the rest. Let's get started!

FYT DocScanner PDF Creator, one of the best alternatives

FYT DocScanner PDF Creator is a free application for Android that brings together a variety of features that are often used, such as the ability to create, compress, merge, split, rotate, mark, encrypt, and decrypt PDF files from the convenience of your mobile device.

This application is quickly gaining a reputation as a user-friendly alternative that is packed to the brim with helpful capabilities for the manipulation of PDF documents.

Let's take a look at some of its functionalities and why they might be of interest to you.

Save pictures as PDFs

Using the built-in camera or the phone's storage, you can take photos directly within the app and save them as a PDF. This mobile application places a premium on simplicity of use by providing a dark mode in addition to a standard interface in order to facilitate the generation of new PDF documents.

These captures will first adapt their size to conform to the proportions of an A4 page, but you will always have the option to make further modifications to them in the event that the automatic editing was not quite precise.

Compressing PDF files

To compress PDF files, you just have to tap the appropriate choice. After selecting the file that needs to be shrunk, the software gives you the option of selecting one of three different compression profiles to use. In addition to this, it comes with an advanced mode that gives you the ability to customize a greater number of relevant parameters.

Merging two PDF files together

Another functionality is the ability to merge two different PDF files together to form a single output file. This might be useful for instance if you have to merge a purchase order and an invoice or any other two files with the same format. Instead of doing this manually, you can use FYT DocScanner PDF Creator for this purpose.

Merging two files with this app is very easy, as you simply need to select the files and press a button and the conversion will happen automatically.

Add a password to a PDF file

Do you need to upload your important and confidential documents to a file sharing service, but want to restrict access so that only authorized users have access to your data?

One very simple alternative at your disposal is to use the FYT DocScanner PDF Creator tool to convert the document into a PDF document, add a password so you can set up a unique authentication system and upload it to your chosen servers.

The app also offers the ability to remove this security layer at any time.

Delete pages from a document or separate your files

One very useful feature of the FYT DocScanner tool is that it also lets you remove pages from a document or separate your files. This is especially useful if you need to send two documents but don’t want them to be combined into a single PDF.

Another time when this functionality might come in handy is when you have to delete some pages from an existing PDF file. For example, imagine you want to share a 50-page PDF file with a friend but you’d like to remove the first ten pages for some reason (perhaps because they contain sensitive information that you don’t want them to see). With a tool such as FYT DocScanner PDF creator, doing so would be extremely easy.

Final thoughts

As you can see, FYT DocScanner PDF Creator is a great option for anyone who needs to edit and manipulate their PDF files or even create new ones from scratch by importing scanned documents or using their phone's camera as a scanner.

This can be helpful whether you're using it for schoolwork, the workplace, or just dealing with everyday situations like getting a receipt or document in this format. For that reason, FYT DocScanner PDF Creator gets our stamp of approval and shouldn't be missed by anyone in need of this type of app.

33% of Ad Execs Plan Budget Cuts for Email, Increased Emphasis on Social Media Marketing

As the holiday shopping season draws ever closer, many are looking at the preferences of marketing executives because of the fact that this is the sort of thing that could potentially end up determining which advertising options they would use before the end of the year. Fiverr has just published a study that was conducted by Censuswide, and it revealed that email marketing is about to see somewhat reduced budgets for this shopping season.

Around one third of all ad executives who participated in this survey stated that they plan to decrease the budget that they would dedicate towards email marketing with all things having been considered and taken into account. There seems to be a general trend of reducing promotional budgets, with 25% also stating that they plan to make in store promotions less prevalent than might have been the case otherwise.

In spite of the fact that this is the case, social media seems to be seeing a huge resurgence in popularity. 41% of ad execs are planning an increase in their spending on social media marketing, and with all of that having been said and now out of the way it is important to note that 90% of them think that it is a crucial aspect of their marketing endeavors.

There also appears to be a generally positive attitude about the results that can be obtained this holiday shopping season. 88% of people who are in charge of businesses seem to be confident that they can at least match last year’s shopping numbers, and they also expect some growth in that area. However, 50% stated that their holiday discounts are going to be bigger drivers of sales than they were in previous years which makes sense given the impacts of inflation.

This New Study Shows How Relevant Content Can Boost Ad Performance

Digital advertising has been experiencing a bit of a crisis as of late, with one out of every three internet users complaining that they are going through digital fatigue with all things having been considered and taken into account. Such fatigue is risky because of the fact that this is the sort of thing that could potentially end up making them pay less attention to the ads they see than might have been the case otherwise.

A study conducted by Sapio Research on behalf of DoubleVerify revealed that the solution to this problem is quite simple. 67% of viewers who were polled in this survey agreed that they would be more likely to pay attention to an ad if it is placed next to content that is relevant to them. With all of that having been said and now out of the way, it is important to note that 61% also stated that they would be less likely to buy from a brand that advertises next to disinformation or other harmful forms of content.

55% of consumers are now viewing far more content on a daily basis. 39% have gone so far as to subscribe to more content with both paid as well as free subscriptions. This gives brands the chance to position their ads next to relevant content, and being more discerning about the content that their ads are viewed next to can help them get on their target market’s good side.

With 49% of consumers saying that they would actively lobby against brands that they feel are promoting misinformation, it is high time that advertisers start paying heed to their content options. Accountability is the name of the game, and this indicates that the direction of the market’s future is no longer going to be dictated by their ability to track users.

We are entering a brave new world that is devoid of cookies and third party tracking. Rather, brands must make smart choices about ad placement if they want the right amount of engagement, and this can also aid them in getting a good reputation among consumers.

Only a Little Portion Of People In The UK And US Has Purchased From Apps In A Livestream But The Situation Is Completely Different In China

Covid brought a lot of changes in the living habits of people. Just like many other things, people started shopping online too. One of the ways of online shopping was through live streaming where people could purchase goods while using apps on mobile phones. In the year 2022, the demand for live-streaming shopping apps skyrocketed and now the top 10 of these apps have reached about 2.3 million downloads in the US. But according to a recent study by The Influencer Market Factory, only 25% of UK users at some point in time have purchased an item during a Livestream.

Many social media apps like Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok added features in their apps for online retail shops but TikTok said that its users are more interested in e-Commerce Live Streams. The study was based on 2000 people and the majority of them said that they have never purchased something from a Livestream. They also said that Live Streaming isn't anything extraordinary compared to regular online shopping. The survey also found that only 27% of people from the US spent $20 to $50 to purchase live streaming, whereas only 35% of people in the UK spent only $20 to purchase something.

The highest percentage of people who spent their money on live-streaming shopping were aged 19-25 in the US as well as the UK. The most used platform to make these purchases was Facebook in the US while people in the UK preferred TikTok.

If we talk about China, this situation is completely different. According to the studies, 700 million people watch these live streams while shopping regularly and till now, 460 million have purchased goods from them. Due to this reason, online sales are about to raise to $423 billion this year. In the US, this amount is only expected to grow up to $20 billion this year. For these live streams, Douyin tools are getting quite popular among young customers. 88% of the users of Douyin said that they had live-streamed on the app in February 2022. The top features used on the app during the live streams were gifts and events. During these live streams, Walmart TikToks generated about seven times more than its regular revenue and also gained its TikTok followers by 25%. The highest percentage of products purchased from these live streams were clothing, beauty products, and electronics in the US and UK.
