Before we get started there are a few things I would like you to know about developing apps for Windows Phone 8.1. You are going to need Visual Studio Professional 2013 Update 4 IDE as a programming environment and a basic understanding of Object Oriented Programming languages. The programming language is C#, which is similar to Java if you find that more familiar. You also need to have Windows 8.1 installed.
