picture
element, which can serve different images according to the device's screen size and orientation, is supported in most browsers except Safari and oldIEs - the
srcset
attribute, which allows you to specify the same image at different resolutions according to screen pixel density and capabilities, is supported in all browsers except oldIEs.
There will always be caveats but responsive images work almost everywhere and can fall back to a standard img
tag. It's finally usable: 1 out of 1 -- a great start!
