Introducing Our First "Coffee Break Course"
We know that many of our subscribers are busy people and have limited time available for online learning. So we've created a new type of video content, called the "Coffee Break Course", that's designed to be consumed in a single sitting.
You can expect these new courses to contain just a single video, about 7 to 12 minutes long, and by the end of the video you can expect to have mastered a new skill or concept.
The very first one, for example, is on NPM Scripts for Build Tooling. NPM scripts are a very simple way to perform build automation, and by the end of this video, you'll understand how to automate web development workflow tasks, using only your package.json
file.
For those of you who prefer our traditional, longer courses, don't worry: we've still got plenty of those coming your way. The Coffee Break Courses are just an alternative option for those of you who have less time available and want to master a new skill in a single sitting.
The NPM Scripts course is free, but only for the first two weeks, so you need to act fast. Simply go to the course page before 15 December, and follow the steps to create a free account.

FinderJS : Browse Hierarchical Data in Columns
FinderJS is a small UI component that allows you to browse tree-like data in columns, similar to the file manager in OS X.
- Data source: Array or Function (useful for asynchronous operations, e.g. calling an API).
- Stlying: Use any CSS/framework of choice, or feel free to use the example CSS (which leverages Flexbox). You can also define how items are rendered and change default classnames.
- Keyboard navigation: use arrows keys to navigate.
- Events: several events are emitted to allow for custom behavior.
- Module formats: Provided as an npm module (CommonJS), a jQuery plugin, and exported as the global finder.
