Which SEO Skills Are Required For A Successful 2023? Google’s John Mueller Unravels It All

The year 2023 is upon us all and a new year means welcoming new changes.

In the world of tech, SEO skills are the most sought-after as they bring a lot of benefits to websites and help them achieve their set goals. But how exactly will 2023 differ from the year 2022 is a question that has plenty of people wondering the truth.

As far as which skills are needed, John Mueller from Google did not hesitate one bit into mentioning how it’s actually very simple. It entails the likes of curiosity as well as persistence. Sounds a little too straightforward, we believe.

John explained the answer via a set of fixed tweets where users asked him what SEO skills were needed to nail the right position in the professional world. And this was his reply. But what did he mean exactly is a question worth pondering.

John did clarify a little more on how curiosity had to do with the inner ability to try out new things. This entails testing technology and new strategies as well as content ideas. You just always need to be experimenting with something new. And one of the best ways to learn such things is never to be afraid of things going sour because they will and that’s how you learn.

So that’s the answer to curiosity but what about persistence? Well, that has to do with never giving up. You can keep on taking up more challenges and see where they make you end up.

He similarly elaborated on how you can’t try out new things and expect them all to be brilliant successes. That’s like setting up your hopes too high and wanting an overnight success, he continued.

SEO is never easy and most tech experts would agree. It’s a long game that makes you want to try to use a lot of effort and the process is long. Only with hard work do many of us expect to see incredible results.

VPNs Are Great For Online Security But They Also Come With Some Major Drawbacks, Claims New Study

This is why most online users are making sure they’ve got the right VPN connection nearby. But a new study says that this useful tool may come with its fair share of drawbacks.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, so many cyber criminals were fast at taking advantage of the daily disruptions in place that were made to everyday life. In the past few years, we’ve seen more and more cyberattacks being launched across the board and a lot of online scams too. Therefore, users were left with no choice but to start using a VPN for better online protection.

VPN secures users’ internet connections and even allows them to browse the web through anonymous means. VPNs enable users to make use of different IP addresses than what’s provided by an online ISP. In addition to that, altering your server location while being connected to a VPN would make it seem like you’re in different states or some other nation.

Great quality VPNs are super straightforward to configure and establish. If you do end up migrating through the likes of a free package, you’ll end up realizing such differences are dramatic.

When it comes down to selecting the right package VPN, you are faced with so many options and they’re super varied. This is why sticking to those that are more well-known is always a great option.

It’s proven that the track record is great and they’re providing some great offers for such costs. This is when we heard about the likes of NordVPN and even ExpressVPN or even Surfshark who lead the market.

Even choosing the right software is important but it’s actually very straightforward, provided you know more about what you need before making an actual subscription. So being able to identify the core issues and working around them is definitely the way forward.

New Leak Unravels Key Features Of Apple’s Reality AR/VR Headset

Leading iPhone maker Apple may have tried long and hard to keep its reality AR/VR headset under wraps but a new leak is shedding light on interesting details that many do not know.

The innovative device is all set to make an arrival this new year but the tech giant is currently silent on the product. There have been a lot of patents and even leaks that have arisen since then. And they’re providing a confirmation that Apple has really worked hard and done its homework to find the best AR wearable out there today.

The news comes thanks to a recently published report by The Information. This has gone on to provide some important details and data for leakers recently. Moreover, we’re seeing this headset is very light in terms of size. Some of this might be related to the simple fact that its battery is worn around the wearer’s waist as outlined in the new report.

This VR solution also puts forward a unique hot-swap outlook for a battery that makes such battery life so much less annoying. Also, such a product from Apple means the long list of materials like carbon, aluminum, and even glass is not the least bit surprising.

Meanwhile, the product’s field of view is designed to be 120 degrees which would surpass the limits seen on similarly designed VR headsets. There is also a display for high resolution and thin optics are expected.

So many speakers are built inside this headband but for now, the H2 chip is included to give very low latency for connection to the firm’s AirPods Pro 2.

This color passthrough is provided since Apple’s CEO mentioned how much support he has for the likes of AR as a brilliant source of technology of the future. When switching to the likes of mixed reality views, it would reportedly be done by flipping the Digital Crown. This is very similar to controls found on Apple’s smartwatch and even its AirPods Max.

Among such a list of interesting details highlighted in the new leak, there is even a claim that iOS apps would be running in the AR/VR device through 2D views. And if that’s true, this provides instant access to a giant number of applications. It adds more value as developers make apps that are specific to this headset.

From the looks of it, we feel so many apps are going to get built using this software kit of Apple Reality but the very famous and popular Unity Developers is going to also get plenty of support. There are enough apps and that just might provide a little justification as to why the price tag currently stands at $2000 to $3000 for the Apple Reality headset. Remember, this is the first product of its kind by Apple so there is a lot of convincing involved here.

For now, we’re just going to have to wait for the final launch date so until then, stay tuned!

Twitter Gives Green Light For The Return Of Political Ads To Its Platform

Twitter is allowing for the return of political ads to its platform. The social media giant this week announced how such advertisements that were politically themed and more cause-based were making a comeback to the app, as early as the upcoming few weeks.

Seeing the sudden reversal of this ban on the app is definitely interesting. For those who might not be aware, Twitter set out a major ban on ads of these themes in 2019 and during that period, they opted to effectively block political parties and firms such as PACs from displaying their ads.

It was a necessary step by the app as they felt such ads would encourage candidates and even promote the likes of ballot measures or even go about asking for donations. Now, the firm is working hard to reverse such a policy and highlighted via its safety account on the platform that it would be relaxing these advertising rules.

The ban for such ads in the US is getting reversed because the platform feels they encourage discussions and initiate public conversations and Twitter adores being the gateway for such a realm.

In the recent past, we’ve seen an absolute ban on political ads and those that are more cause-based. They covered important issues like climate change and abortion but were similarly seen getting subjected to the likes of different restrictions.

The latter was barred from getting marketed to certain audiences and even age brackets. For example, the whole idea was seen to raise awareness on issues that were allowed and were rooting for support of laws that weren’t allowed.

This detailed announcement has not gone according to plan regarding ad rules. Instead, the whole idea is to bring the app forward with political ads on television and leading media outlets. For now, it’s just not too clear what such a decision means but it is worth noting how television and markets for broadcast that channel such messages need public airwaves to follow a few rules of the FCC that apps like Twitter might not be answerable to.

In both ways, this decision is guaranteed to work in favor of Twitter and fill up the gaps left behind by the likes of Elon Musk who make purchases via such platforms. This is when big names like GM, Audi, and even General Mills opted to put an end to advertising.

Microsoft Will Reportedly Launch New Bing Search Engine That Uses AI Behind ChatGPT To Compete With Google

ChatGPT has really brought forward a new era of technology where AI bots can now rid the need for traditional ways to chat.

Now, it appears that Microsoft is all set to jump on the bandwagon and prepare a launch for this new variant of Bing Search that uses AI-powered technology to answer major search queries. At the moment, it’s Google who is Code Red over this technology but new reports are hinting at Microsoft taking full advantage to answer leading queries linked to search.

This is in accordance with a new report published by The Information. And there are so many works that date back to the likes of a few years ago. During this period, we saw Microsoft mention an investment into the world of OpenAI and that entails agreements to add some major aspects for GPT into this Bing Search.

While we do think Google has all that it needs to counter the likes of this ChatGPT, we need to take some more things into account.

One old version of GPT that’s used for generating query suggestions through automated means is seen when you type. Tech giant Microsoft showed plans getting announced for the integration of this Dall-E 2 into the Image Creator for Bing. And that’s where there are issuances of descriptive forms of text that prompt the likes of AI-generated artwork.

These types of answers involving AI-powered technology may take the form of full sentences that entail information sources instead of taking on the usual Featured Snippets for source quotation. This ends up addressing what you are asking for or providing a list of links.

Bing really does rely on its own personal technology to make the most of its search results as GPT is not meant to scrape the web or provide data that’s real-time like the usual search engine does. But another question is how Bing plans on making sure the data produced is accurate with answers.

If one user ended up asking questions about the likes of World War II and how the French troops did everything to resist it, well, you’re in luck. ChatGPTs may provide great suggestions for any related queries about the regime linked to Vichy France and that explains great relevance to original queries. And that’s true, even if the person forgot to set aside major keywords.

In the same way, GPT may assist Bing to do better things by providing suggestions for keywords that users type to witness answers related to such searches.

A recent report by media outlet The Information says that this might end up launching before the month of March ends. And Bing could be positioned as the sole way to gain access to parts of GPT that are free of cost.

With time, OpenAI does plan on charging ChatGPT and that is going to be one expensive ordeal. But for now, it’s being seen as a great chance as Microsoft is getting described as one that is footing the startup’s cloud bill.

Google Develops New Free Tool To Assist Smaller Websites Detect And Delete Terrorism Content

It’s not just Meta who appears to be leading the pack in terms of new tools to abolish extremist content online.

Now, we’ve got the news that leading search engine giant Google’s Jigsaw is working hard to make a tool that’s free of cost to assist smaller pages to identify and get rid of terrorism-related content.

The news comes to us thanks to the likes of The Financial Times which has been created using material from the UN. This makes it much simpler for the likes of moderator teams to target those aligned with extremist content.

This effort takes help from the Global Internet Forum to get rid of terrorism and make it simpler for moderator teams to combat such means. This body has been providing help for so long and was funded by Google, Meta, and Microsoft as well as Twitter. It provides the best database to get rid of such activities. And now, there will even be two more sites named to assist with trials, the report continued to mention.

Meta’s new utility that’s open source is designed to help websites that cannot afford to create AI detection algorithms or even hire staff for content moderation. This is definitely a very valid point as it’s a crucial part of the EU’s Digital Services Act and the Online Safety Act of the United Kingdom. Both of these entities mentioned how they need site operators to remove extremist content to get rid of such penalties.

Google as well as Tech Against Terrorism see this project as a major step to rid the gap in getting rid of terrorist content seen online. Meanwhile, those who support misinformation and the likes of terrorism similarly can be seen turning to smaller outlets that have trouble combating such individuals. And at the end of the day, it limits them from making safe-havens.

Obviously, there are some major limitations. Certain social platforms are very reluctant to eliminate content even when certain app store operators claim it starts off violence. Moreover, Google’s new tool is not said to be too useful on certain pages that do not wish to be affiliated with it.

Similarly, it’s not going to stop the likes of extremists who wish to share content over encrypted messaging platforms or even mediums like the Dark Web. Here is where providers cannot simply grab a hold of user traffic. But this would make it much harder to hop onto various other alternatives online.

Instagram Influencers share their secrets on how to acquire sponsorship deals in 2023

Social media creators and influencers are earning more than ever now. Influencers are one of the highest-paid people and today we share how they engage their potential clients.

Being a social media star is a hard job. Influencers not only set their personal life out in the open, but their fears, hopes, and dreams as well. It is all about making yourself transparent to create a connection with your audience.

Now, why would people go through all this trouble? The secret is the money behind it. Influencers are in for the satisfaction as well, but we’re positive that money does play a huge role.

According to the interviews conducted by Insider with around a dozen influencers, the key to making money is through brand deals and sponsorships. Influencers make as much as $300,000 a year with just two elements - partnerships and 50,000 followers.

How do these influencers land big brands like Lululemon and Nissan? There are multiple ways. They either sign up with agencies that promote their brands and get them deals or they take matters into their own hands.

By taking matters into their hands, we mean generating personalized emails and reaching out to brands themselves. The key to writing these personalized emails is selling themselves. For instance, using the word ‘offer’ instead of ‘collab’. Such fine details make a huge difference.

Furthermore, influencers who sell their brands themselves need to include key influencing points to potential clients like their engagement rates and their reach data. The most important thing an influencer needs to have is audience engagement. Even if you have 7,000 followers with an engagement rate of 95%, the deal would be yours.
Influencers with such a low reach are called nano influencers. Those with a slightly higher reach are called micro-influencers. Brands look for influencers that sell value whether you’re a nano, micro, macro, or mage influencer.

To further secure clients, these influencers also create a media kit to include in their proposals. Some are also kind enough to upload them online for future influencers to take inspiration from. However, the platforms where these are uploaded are not always free.

In the end, getting the right pitch and having a high engagement ratio is the key to securing good brand deals and sponsorships and making more than a typical 9 to 5 job can pay.
