SGE Searches Don’t Match Organic Search Results 94% of the Time, New Study Reveals

Google has made its foray into the world of AI with its Search Generative Experience, or SGE for short, but how accurate are these results in a real world setting? A recent study conducted by Authoritas has revealed that 93.8% of the search results obtained through SGE don’t match Google’s top 10 organic search results with all things having been considered and taken into account.

Such a trend matters because of the fact that this is the sort of thing that could potentially end up giving websites some hope in the age of AI. It’s looking like Google will funnel as much traffic as possible into its SGE, leaving many website owners in the lurch. In spite of the fact that this is the case, it appears that websites that don’t rank in the top 10 organically might still have a fighting chance.

It is important to note that there isn’t all that much overlap between SGE and organic search. Just 4.5% of the content derived through SGE matches organic search, and just 1.6% involves any kind of domain overlap whatsoever. Out of the ten links offered by SGE, just 4 end up being unique.

"If you are wondering whether SGE results will affect your website then the answer is 'Yes'. In our study, 86.83% of all keywords we checked had an SGE result.", explained Laurence O'Toole in a blog post.

Google displays a Search Generative element for 86.8% of all search queries.

As for keywords, about 13.2% of them didn’t trigger SGE content, which makes them more likely to turn up in organic search than might have been the case otherwise. What's more is that the generate button is only appearing in 65.9% of cases based on the findings presented in this report, although this is still a higher proportion than the Show More button.

It will be interesting to see where things go from here on out, because SGE is perhaps one of Google’s most exciting projects in the recent past. The manner in which it could fundamentally alter search experiences across the board remains to be seen, but it is all but certain that it will have some kind of an impact. As the tech juggernaut continues to refine SGE, there might be more overlap than what can be seen right now.

Sam said that he has created this chatbot so people can have someone or something to talk to when they are completely alone. As characters.ai is popular among people of ages 16-30, Psychologist uses the tone and language which makes people feel close to it. Theresa Plewman who is a psychotherapist says that she has also tried Psychologist but isn’t completely satisfied with the way it responds to a general query with complex answers. She says that the chatbot can never take the place of a human psychologist because it cannot access all the information a human could.

The spokesperson for character.ai said that they are glad that people are finding connection and guidance through their platform, but professional help is also very important. She said that whenever a user starts a chat, he sees a sign that says that everything the characters say, it’s all made up. This means every user should remember that AI chatbots are different from humans. They can even make up some information to please its users.

AI's Threat to Humanity: Experts Estimate a 5% Risk of Total Destruction

We all know how fast AI is advancing and soon it will be able to take most of our jobs. Many people think that AI is going to kill us all and take over the world. Upon survey, it was found out that even though AI is slowly intervening with our daily lives, the chance of it destroying humans is only 5%. A think tank based in California, AI Impacts, carried out this survey by asking 20,000 experts about their take on this. 2778 experts were asked about their thoughts on this fast AI Development while 1321 experts were asked if they think AI can destroy humans. The average response of mass extinction of humans by AI was 5%. 16% said that they think that AI is about to bring some big changes all over the world and we cannot stop this.

One in ten people in the survey said that there is a 25% chance of AI killing humans while 1% of the experts said that they think there is a 75% chance. When asked how they see AI destroying humans, many experts didn’t have a definite and clear answer. But they answered the question about how AI can destroy society. Many experts believe that AI is destroying society slowly right now by spreading misinformation about many things like public or political opinion. Some also said that AI can cause many disasters other than destroying humans like accidentally creating a virus or causing income inequality.

Experts were also asked for their predictions of when AI can start performing tasks like creating a pop song, writing a bestselling book or folding clothes. Many experts believe that they see all this happening till the next decade. They said that there is a 50% chance that AI will be able to do all this by 2047. The thing to note here is that when a survey with this question was done in 2022, AI experts said that AI will be able to perform these tasks by 2060.

SensorTower data shows, X's $1 account creation experiment hasn't significantly impacted app downloads in the regions where the platform tested the feature. Despite fluctuations, the overall download figures in New Zealand remain stable. X, ranked 77th on October 17th, dropped to 89th but is now 91st, indicating a decline but not a collapse.

In the Philippines, X's iOS downloads increased from 70th to 32nd since the test began, with a similar positive trend in the Google Play Store charts. The Philippines, being an Android-dominant region, shows X moving up 50 points in free app rankings.

These trends suggest a positive outcome for X's effort to encourage more users to pay for the app. However, considering that 8 in 10 of users don't post, the $1 fee may not be a significant deterrent for most. Users can still download and use the app for free; the fee only applies to posting or interacting.

It remains unclear how many users are actually paying the $1 annual fee. The principle behind charging for an active profile aims to deter bot peddlers, but more sophisticated operations may absorb the cost. Alternatively, X may seek more users to connect bank details for future ventures into payments and commerce.

While charging all users may not be the optimal solution to combat bots, X's motivation to experiment and battle bots is evident. These figures suggest there might be some merit to the initiative, but its broader implications and user adoption of the $1 fee remain to be seen.
